There are many types of ironworkers. Structural workers connect the steel beams; ornamental ironworkers install metal staircases, windows and grates, “rodmen” set steel reinforcing bars for concrete floors and walls, “riggers” move and install heavy equipment and shop workers fabricate steel and iron into the needed parts.
