Peter B. Jones, Onondaga Nation, Beaver Clan
Jones began working with clay at the age of seven, encouraged by both his parents. At the age of fourteen, he enrolled at the then-fledgling Institute of American Indian Arts, in Santa Fee, New Mexico. His sensitive rendering has earned his clan animal pottery immense popularity. Jones' sculpture has earned him commissions including two monumental bronze pieces in Akron, Ohio. His work has been exhibited widely and is in the collections of the heard Museum, the MFA in Boston, Everson Museum, and Museums of Anthropology in Berlin and Frankfurt.
