Necklace - Glass Bead Turtle Amulet Bag

Necklace - Glass Bead Turtle Amulet Bag

SKU: 2240

Beaded Turtle amulet bag made by Mohawk artist Sue-Ann Hooper from the Akwesasne Reserve.

The designs on the bag include traditional Iroquois symbols and references to teachings, such as the Turtle which is the foundation on which the earth rests. Using the peyote stitch she fashions her amulet bags entirely out of delica beads.  Initial design to completion takes about a week.

This beautifully beaded necklace with beaded strap is 17" in length and the pendant/bag is 1.5" in length.
