Black Ash Bell

A decorative bell made of black ash splints and sweetgrass.  Made by Robin Lazore of the Mohawk Nation, from Akwesasne, upstate New York.  Robin collects and prepares her own black ash splints. The aromatic sweet grass is colected near her home. Robin's tools were made by her elders who repurposed discarded metal and wood items into basket molds and splint gauges. She has been a basket maker for over 20 years.    H: 3".
