Hand tanned deerskin with loomed bead decoration by Louis R Lee, Seneca Nation Bear Clan. Pouch L 8" X 4.5" with fringe L 12".  The scratch markings that indicate a hand tanning process are in evidence on the pouch. Louis  grew up at Allegany Reservation in western NY. A former lacrosse player and current high school lacrosse coach, he lives in Suffield, CT.  Lee is an active Rotary member and does craft work in his spare time.  In addition to hand crafted deerskin bags he creates horn rattles, feather, beaded, and quahog (wampum shell) jewelry, ribbon shirts, and gustoweh’s (men’s traditional headdresses).
