Tahatie Montour, Mohawk Nation from Kahnawake Reserve is an accomplished artist making traditional items such as gus-to-weh's (men’s feather headdress), drums, cow horn and elmbark rattles, and cradleboards. Tahatie teaches classes on rattle, kastowas, and cradleboard making. His work has been presented in museums and art galleries around Montreal and is in the permanent collection of the Iroquois Museum. In 2019, one of his kastowas was commissioned for use in an episode of Billionaires on Showtime. In addition to his activities in the visual arts, Tahatie is a smoke dancer, minor league hockey coach, and appeared in the films Grey Owl (1999) and Squanto (1994).
